Groundhogs can eat several pounds of vegetation every day.  They hibernate during winter months by digging their burrows well below the frost line.  These burrows are deep, complex and multi-chambered that can cause major damage to foundations, decks and fence lines.  Their large teeth can also chew through tubing, wires and irrigation systems.
